Rose's bipolar character confuses Josutty and later he finds out his wife is pursuing an extramarital life with her former boyfriend. Upon reaching there, Josutty's life turns upside down. After the marriage, he travels to Rotorua in New Zealand to join his wife. Josutty's family was in deep debt and had sister to marry off, yielding to the advice from his friends and relatives he agrees to marry Rose ( Jyothi Krishna), a divorcée nurse settled in New Zealand. Jessy was ready to go against her father and marry Josutty, but he doesn't want their families to suffer because of them. Josutty is a sixth standard dropout and from a poor background, the reason why Jessy's dad refuses to marry her off to Josutty. But he falls in love with Jessy ( Rachana Narayanankutty), his neighbor and childhood friend. As a child he desired to become a priest. He belongs to a middle class traditional Christian farmer family in Kattappana, Idukki. Its life - slow and steady like the beat of the heart.Josutty ( Dileep) is the son of Joseph and Shoshamma. The makers' repeated warning that there is no twist of suspense is very much true. Jeethu Joseph has once again come up with a good cinema. One to watch out for is Hareesh Peraady's performance as Josutty's father. Performances by all the actors are brilliant. Anil Johnson's music is also apt for the story. Ravichandran's visuals are soulful be it the rustic farmer's life or the sleek New Zealand life. The script by Ratesh Varma, with Jayalal's story is very much realistic. But they are a welcome interlude in the narrative. The first half has a lot many instances which provide laughter. Though there is a lot of emotions running all over the place, and occasional overload of grief, the narration has been kept undramatic and simple. The highs and lows of Josutty's life is what the movie is all about. Josutty's immigration to New Zealand with Rose and his transformation from a farmer to an NRI is all depicted well. And because of some family problems he is forced to marry a divorcee named Rose who is a nurse.
Josutty now has a lot of problems and burdens to contend with on a daily basis. A few incidents happen which forrces Jesse away from Josutty. He falls in love with his next door neighbor and childhood friend Jessie, played by Rachana Narayanankutty. Josutty is a simple farmer who leads a contended life with his father Joseph and mother Shoshamma. 'Life of Josutty' traverses through myriad hues of human emotions. But Jeethu Joseph has beautifully made an ordinary life quite interesting. Taking such a life into focus and making a cinema on it may not be always entertaining. Ordinary lives can appear undramatic at the best of times.
